| | Its not very long until prom. Id say about roughly 3 weeks. I was browsing through a few prom websites out on the web and found a funny, but horrible at the same time, story.
"It was my first junior prom and I was so excited!! I had asked my date Willard if he would go with me like two months before. I had my dress which was so beautiful, it was a lime green and was a turtle neck long sleeve. When prom finally came along we decided we would meet there. He didn't want to eat dinner there so he told me to take Kentucky fried chicken to the prom, so I did. Well I got to the prom and I had the KFC and it turns out it was all a joke and he really didn't want to go with me. I started crying and left walking home!! I just left the KFC there and everyone was eating it!!"
Geeze. Guys are jerks huh? I could hardly believe someone could be so heartless and do this to a girl on one of her most important days of her life.. and then, I thought about it, and it wasnt too hard to believe. Seems like some guys out there need some proper training and manners. So heres some tips for you guys. Stop being heathens!
Gentlemen Prom Dos, Don'ts, and Prom Etiquette: Don't lock your keys in your car. Don't forget to turn off your car lights. Do pull out a ladies chair. Don't seat yourself while a lady is standing. Do stand when a lady stands to excuse herself. Do check your ladies wrap for her at the hotel or restaurants. Don't be late. Don't forget your cash. Do take dance lessons if you can't dance. Don't enter a room before a lady unless you are turning on a light for her. Do escort your lady whenever appropriate. Do make all entrances with your lady, not behind her and not in front of her. Don't forget to tell her how beautiful she looks. Don't forget the corsage. Do wear your best smelling cologne (but don't O.D. on it). Do ask your lady what color her dress is so that you may match her corsage to her dress. Don't ask to see your ladies dress before prom (it's bad luck). Do ask your lady if she would prefer a wrist corsage or a pinned on corsage (when in doubt, opt for the wrist corsage). Do ask another woman (your mother?) to help you with picking out a corsage. Do the prom dos. Do escort your date to the date's door step at the end of the night. Don't say anything you'll regret in the morning. Don't fish for compliments. Do use words like please and thank you. Do use the proper silverware. Usually you start using the outside fork and work your way in. Don't use the wrong bread plate. Do turn your salad fork upside down on the salad plate when you are finished. Do turn your coffee cup upside down if you do not want any coffee. Do put your napkin on your lap. Especially to keep from spilling on your tux, or for those manly men, your prom dress. Don't put your napkin on the table until you are finished eating. Do place your napkin on the back of your chair if you are leaving to use the mens room. Do be on time. Don't keep your nervous prom date waiting. Do accept compliments with a polite 'thank you' (rather than a I don't think so). Don't leave your date to be with your friends the whole night. She spent a lot of time preparing for this night, make it special. Don't break up with your girlfriend on prom night or prom week!! JERKS! ><
Just follow these simple steps and youll be set for a perfect night ^^ gl |
